Psssst...The kids are all sound asleep.
And they ate tons of candy.
Should I be worried?! LOL
Carter and I stayed home, this evening, while Mark took the other two out. For little ones, they sure got a lot of candy! More than I expected. I took away all of the 'peanut' ones and they still have a ton. So much for buying extra. Totally unneccessary.
I tried convincing Nikayda to be the cute chicken, to no avail. She wanted to be a clown, so I scrounged up a makeshift/homemade/last minute costume for her.
And at about 5:30, I was flying around the house throwing things out of boxes in search of the Halloween makeup. It wasn't in the box of fall stuff. And when I discovered this, I remembered that I hadn't wanted it in storage (in Sara's barn), because I was worried about it all melting into one big glob over the summer. Eventually, I found it and threw some on the kid's faces.
Normally, I love to get into every tiny little detail. I love to paint faces, but this year was a five second event. ;) Carter wanted his painted too. And I obliged even though he wasn't going. When he looked in the mirror, he thought it was pretty cool. The other two just giggled when they saw themselves.
When they got home Nikayda told me: Mom, next year I'm not going to go trick-or-treating.
Nikayda: Because I don't like to say "trick-or-treat".
Aapo shouts out: Next year I'm gonna go! 'Cause I like the people's candy!!
