And for the rest of you, humor me for a day or so because I will be doing another post or two like this one. I have sewing patterns on the brain. And, quite literally, scattered all over the floor so I thought I'd share some close-ups. They didn't turn out real great because of the lighting, but you get the idea.
It has been so much fun sorting these! I pulled the 1980's and early 90's to use in projects because, quite honestly, they are all fashions I'm sure most of us would soon love to forget! (MC Hammer pants anyone? Or, how about puffed sleeves and shoulder pads?) Not sure if those links are working. Typepad is acting up again... Ok, it looks like I can get the links to work if I don't change them to aqua.
The 70's were fun (not speaking from too much experience as I was only a freshly birthed babe at the end of that era...but), I'll take them over such fads from the 80's and 90's any day, only I find I'm more drawn to the 60's and beyond.
(Mom, these are especially for you. I hope you see something familiar.) Counting backward... 1979
I thought I had gotten all the duplicates matched up. But I can see now that I missed a few. And, you may have noticed that a couple have fire damage. There are about a handful or so that are burned around the edges, including some from the 60's (not shown). Makes me so curious as to their history! (One of the vintage patterns has a woman's name and address for a town south of here. I love that kind of personalization on vintage finds that makes the person who owned them previously all the more real.)
