Since I just logged in real quick to find a post for my sister who's KitchenAid mixer is acting up, I thought I'd better at least say 'hi'! I know it's been my mantra anytime I've posted in the past month or so, but I didn't quit blogging and have no plans to. I'm just hopping on when I get a chance lately.
It was so crazy hot today and humid. My least favorite kind of day. I loved our cool spring/summer we've been having but I suppose the heat and humidity had to come sometime. I just hope that it's only passing through -- real quick.
I've been painting (upcycling) up a storm for the Craft Show, which is next weekend (July 9). I feel like I haven't been on here in forever because I've barely been on the computer all week but to pop into Facebook real fast or to hop on Pinterest for a little bit. And I promised pictures of some of my estate sale finds from two weeks ago, on Facebook, as well as before and after photos of the projects I'm working on for the show but I haven't made the time to do it yet. (I don't like saying I 'haven't had time' because we all have the same amount of time in the day!) :)
I have all these things I want to get done before the show and I know I'll get nowhere near as much stuff worked on as I'd hoped to but I have plenty done already for my booth so that feels good. I still need to work out details for the booth, though, and Mark needs to rig up some kind of wall to hang things on, yet.
I'm also anxious to reload the junk shop. It's been neglected these past couple of months and I have stacks and stacks of stuff waiting to be photographed and listed.
I can't believe there is just about one week for the show! I feel like that time went so fast since I've been working on all of these projects. I'm looking forward to it but I also can't wait until it's over so I can get back to my regularly scheduled program around here. It's like when you go on vacation, it's always a blast to go and you have a tremendous amount of fun but then there is nothing like getting back home into your own bed again. I'm looking forward to it.
Photos: Top, Mark had to take down a Maple on our property that had died. And, there is Alba in the background -- he's been working on her interior a bit this summer. I need to get out there and take some photos.
Middle two, our nearly weekly summer tradition that we enjoy so much -- spending Sunday afternoons by one of the many lakes that surround us. We don't make it out every week but we go several times a month and we love that time together as a family just hanging out and relaxing by the water. There is nothing better. It usually consists of Mark taking the kids fishing and me with my nose in a book or my face pressed against my camera as the kids frolic and play in the water.
Bottom, stopping to check out the river on the ride home from church one Sunday. We have two churches of ours near us. One a bit west from us and the other a bit south -- our ministers go back and forth between the two. When we head south, we usually take the back roads and check out the river on the way home. The kids love it.
Have a great weekend!
